LO3: Evaluation (Hannah)

Evaluation 


For this Unit we were asked to produce campaign material for The Vintage Leather Bag company. I created Business cards, posters. The company asked for campaign material to positively represent the vintage leather bag company 


Posters 

I created a poster to represent a clear portrayal of the target audience in order to reach out to them. This was achieved through including different genders, ethnicities and religions. They were photographed in location where the target age group  and c2de category spend there time such as university campus and urban street style. I also used the same style of the poster on both posters to create a constant theme and brand for the Vintage Leather Bag Company. 

If I had to create this again I would present even more representation of locations and models suited to the target market to allow even more people to relate and the bag to be successful.


Business Card

For the business card I have followed the constant house style theme for the vintage leather bag company ( orange/brow and black). Again this is also following the constant house style theme of the brand. Including social media links to the brand clearly reaching out to its digital native target audience. The cards including all the ways people can contact or visit the company. The logo is also featured on the cards to create and follow the brand.

If I was to create this again I would create the cards to look much more aesthetically pleasing towards my intended audiences. This is because I feel the cards a too mature for my audience.


Social Media Pages 


I have created social media pages for the vintage leather bag company on Instagram and Twitter. The target audience are digital natives which makes social media a great way to reach out to them. Especially, due to most of their time being spent on their. Instagram and twitter are the top social media platform for posting images and captions. On the vintage leather bag.

When creating these brands I should have created pages for the Vintage Leather Bag Company on many different Social Media Platforms. Such as Tumblr, Facebook etc. As this would allow the brand reach more people.


Logo

The Logo was classy an luxurious and not suited to just one gender. The style of font was constant from the logo to the poster and cards allowing the brand to be recognisable and familiar.

What I would do if I could change/ improve the logo would be again to make it less mature as it looks too targeted at an older mature audience rather than my audience.

LO1: How analysing helped me decide what to produce

   When analysing the existing successful campaigns in LO1, it helped me and allowed me to feel much more comfortable whent cam to making and creating ideas for a campaign. This is because being exposed and looking at other campaigns made sure I knew the conventions of a campaign and what works and is effective for as a marketing tool towards a specific audience.

I I had analysed a variety of different campaigns marketing different products such as Coco Chanel, Emirates, McVities and Nespresso. These are very different product, which are also targeted at very different target audiences.

The way brands have catered to their audience draws their target audience into purchasing the brand. For example Nespresso and Chanel have advertised their brand through endorsing attractive celebrities/ famous figures.The use of animals and an all female cast for McVities and the varied portrayal of people in the Emirates campaign. These are different ways they have appealed their brands to a specific audience type. Presenting how important it is to create material which your intended audience is interested in, relates to etc. 
   This has allowed me to understand and have an idea on what I want to produce and to ensure the target audience of the product are presented with material that appeal to them as much as the product.


I have produced materials from understanding the way existing campaigns have used campaign materials to appeal to an audience. From this I have chosen to create my campaign material to target my audience through colour, type of material and style etc. 

   Creating materials such as a new logo would be important to recreate as though analysing many campaigns to repetitive use of logos are important as it creates the overall brand. A more target audience suitable logo would be ideal.Along with Posters, Business cards and social media accounts presented in a way to attract my audience through colour themes, logo etc. This will hopefully attract my audience as the advertising materials are targeted at them.

LO3: VLB LOGO

Creating a logo for the VLB company was something I chose to do even though they already have a logo. I though this was important because the previous logo was plain , black and white and also unsuitable for its target audience. This is why I though it was essential to create a new logo.

The client stated that he wanted 'artistic talent' to feature when creating the logo. I though recreating the logo would give the band a great neat look.


LO3: Final Piece Posters



My client stated he wanted 'Photographs of 'models with bags'. Anyone in UTC, any age, all races.  Very keen on representing different nationalities and characters modelling the bags'

I have successfully achieved this through presented the Vintage Leather Bags worn by models. I have chosen my models to present people from different genders, people and nationalities modelling the bag. This allows the client's company to have a wider audience through targeting at a wider audience.

LO3: Final Piece Social Media Campaign



My client had highlighted to us the use of distributing content on social media. This is why I though creating social media pages from popular social media companies would be a very effective and cost efficient strategy aswell as being a great way to distribute content.







LO3: Final Piece Business Card

The client explicitly made it clear he wanted of us to produce a campaign material such as a business card. 

'Small card voucher (probably business card size) for placement in each bag when it is sent out from India for the customer to hand to friends '


I have produce something that will create exposure of the brand and also details needed to reach out to the brand, which was the clients aim.
